Hello René,

Thanks for chiming in. Your question is a little long, so I was thinking to try and shorten it. Do you feel this expresses the same intention?

From what I understand on how we got to this point, this would be what I'd ask
the SFC.

Dear SFC,

we'd like to have a meeting and get your advice on:

- While we do not want to give up on the decentralized volunteer-/community-driven
nature of the project ("nobody can tell anybody what to do"), there are areas that
we are struggling with because of missing leadership. If anybody is free to do as
they please, who takes care of making plans for what's in the best interest of the
project? Currently, that's no one - including the Inkscape board, as it was neither
installed as a steering committee or authoritative body, nor conceived to be either
of those. That leads us to our current situation where we are sitting on a pile of
donations without any plans on how to spend that money (e.g. paying someone to do
work no volunteer wants to do), and we’ve kind of grinded ourselves to a halt
discussing how to approach this.
We know that we need to change the way we work, but don't know how. Do we need to
restructure the board and give it authority? Do we hire a project manager/
counsel/... whatever? How do other decentralized community-driven projects deal
with issues that would benefit from having some centralized structure/
organization in place?
