(only people in AUTHORS file can vote, how does the website's voting system know?)
People would be in the Team collection. As well as providing a basis for granting privileges on the website, it acts as a known list of people for any given part of the project.
It's still under construction although the groups know.
If we need to sync from AUTHORs to website or in the future from website to AUTHORS (depends on how people want to work) we can do both or either.
One unfortunately limitation of AUTHORS is that we don't record email addresses, just plain names. So that could be a source of ambiguity to sync *from*.
OTOH, many of the people in AUTHORS are inactive (some names originate from Sodipodi days), so they're not going to be maintaining website accounts or anything. We still extend to them voting rights in Inkscape due to their involvement in our project's origins, but it might be hard to (re-)establish identities there. So that makes for a problem if we sync'd *to* AUTHORS from the website accounts.
Anyway, not sure what the best approach is here, but hoping you have some good ideas.
