Supporting the board - and Hello!
Howdy Inkscape Board List!
I responded to Bryce's call for volunteers to support the board's work. So thought I'd pop in, say Hi, and introduce myself.
I'm a long time fan and user of Inkscape, after being introduced to it by Andy Fitzsimon at linux.conf.au way back in 2006! I've been involved in various free and open source software groups of one kind of another for even longer. From software freedom day, to being president of my local linux user's group, to my current involvement with the Drupal project and Drupal association.
I can't code, but I can help with administrivia, event organising and community communications. So, Hi, I'm Donna and I'm here to help ;)
Bryce forwarded some docs, so I've just published some small changes to the english version of the Governance page. https://inkscape.org/en/about/governance/
Unfortunately, I'm not multi-lingual, so haven't attempted to update the French, German and Spanish pages. (is there a process for coordinating with people around this?)

Yes, you can drop a note to the fine folks on the inkscape-doc@ mailing list. Maren has been coordinating translation work with everyone, so would be worthwhile to touch base with her.
The website actually has a fairly good infrastructure for translators. They can see which pages have been updated and need translation work and so on. There may not be a whole lot of coordination needed.
A number of things on the site we actually won't want translated... legal documents, pdfs, and so on, since we wouldn't want misinterpretations introduced via the translation process. If we have a way to flag things 'do not translate' that would be good to know.

Perhaps one could just "translate" the document with a "Please find the English version of this document <here>. For legal consistency, we do not translate this document other languages." ?
