Great proposal!
I think that the Nov. dates would be hard considering it's the weekend
after Thanksgiving, it would also be a difficult time to travel in the
states. Lots of traffic and connecting through Chicago or NYC is risky
that time of year.
I'm for Oct. if we think it'd be useful as a "release helper" sprint.
I
think that's a good place to put our energy right now. If not, I'd say
go for the larger event in the Spring.

Not that it matters too much, but weatherwise Oct in Portland will be
a tad better than Nov.
On the other hand, Tav says Oct would be difficult for him (Tav:
difficult as in 'impossible' or merely 'possible but inconvenient'?)
Another advantage to Nov is that it gives an extra month of prep time
for everyone.
It's a good point about the post-Thanksgiving air traffic, but our
travels wouldn't actually be overlapping with it. So I'm not sure that
the level of traffic would be to the point that it would be
problematical for folks. However, you guys would be the ones flying not
me, so your opinions matter more than mine here. Certainly, if anyone
has Thanksgiving travel plans, turning around for another trip right
after might be overly taxing.
