Hope everyone's summer is going well. I'd like to call the next board meeting for this Friday, July 8th. As usual, it will be held in #inkscape-devel at noon Pacific time.
http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Board_Meetings
We'll continue discussions about the forum. As well, we had a number of action items at May's meeting that we didn't cover in June's meeting, that I hope we can tackle at this meeting too.
Thanks, Bryce

I unfortunately won't be able to make it, I will perhaps ironically be teaching Inkscape at TXLF at that time: http://2016.texaslinuxfest.org/content/technical-diagrams-inkscape I haven't been able to find out any details about a GNOME activity in October, it seems to be unplanned at the moment, and the last couple years has turned into a more ad hoc event. It seems though, that since we're looking at a GTK3 hackfest near GUADEC that probably isn't as useful. The only thing I had to bring up is that I made a dummy account in the Ubuntu Snappy store that owns the namespace for "inkscape". I need to transfer the account login over to shared ownership, but more wanted to make sure folks knew that we have it. I've looked at making a snap for Inkscape as well, but haven't yet completed it. Ted

Alright, well thanks for following up. I think Martin also had some ideas regarding arranging something in Boston for tackling GTK issues. I'll talk with him on if he'd be willing to carry this action forward.

You can put it in the credentials repo:
bzr branch lp:~inkscape.dev/inkscape/credentials
Look at the README and do steps 1-4 to register your GPG key. Then steps 8 & 9 to add a new credential.
Thanks, Bryce

I dropped the idea after Tav decided we should do GUADEC. But if there's enough people to support both, I wouldn't mind re-engaging the SIBP about the gnome event.
Thoughts?

Maybe worth looking at again at Friday's meeting.
By the way, did you and Josh find some time to look into setting up for the about screen contest? I'd really like to get that into high gear this month if at all possible. Is the next step to draft an announcement? Perhaps we could start with the one we did last time?
Thanks, Bryce

Yes, I've given instruction and I'm waiting and ready to do support to make sure it all goes well.
Josh, let me know what you'd like to do.

Only two people responded to the email about the GUADEC hackfest, Alex who was a maybe and Chiron who doesn't appear to be experienced with Gtk. I've pinged them to get an update on their interest. I could go (it's 2.5 hours by train from Paris) but the timing of the dedicated hacking sessions is not optimal as my wife if off from work that week (going for the general meetings is less of a problem).
I asked on the gtk+ IRC channel and it does seem like we would be able to get useful help if we did send people.
