Hi all,
The text base line has an anchor, which is always displayed at the left end of the base line. Is this used for anything else than snapping? If it isn't then its position should be dependent of the text alignment, e.g. for right aligned text the anchor should be displayed at the right end the base line. I'm about to change this, but just want to make sure that this doesn't break someone's workflow.
I think it's a good idea, I don't foresee any problems if snapping will also act at the new location.
Also, I have a code which I will commit soon that implements text alignment without moving - i.e. you press an alignment button and it only changes the position of the anchor and the alignment value, but the visible text stays (almost) unmoved. I think it is an old RFE, and I needed it so I implemented it, but if anyone has any wishes/reservations please sound off.
