Yes we use extended namespace, but SVG does not become invalid by adding other namespaces to it. Elements and attributes in Inkscape/Sodipodi namespaces only affect how objects _behave when edited_, but never affect how they are _rendered_, and therefore Inkscape SVG is always rendered the same as plain SVG.
