I think it is a question of the aims of inkscape, If you are more interested in<br>
building on the active developer community then the link should probably<br>
just be deleted, as the link to the main downloads page is quite prominent<br>
on the main navigation<br>

I think the designer intended the link for a more end user friendly one click<br>
download button (ok, they have to click another at sf) where they didnt<br>
have to decide which package to choose. Download now links are becoming<br>
quite popular as a means to provide the user with the quickest and easiest<br>
way to provide the user with the product, <a href="http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/">http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/</a><br>
would be my example. users looking for a download now link are expecting<br>
this behaviour. users who do not want .exe / dmg also expect this behaviour<br>
and look to the navigation.<br>

I think adding a link to <a href="http://inkscape.org/win32/win32buildnotes.html">http://inkscape.org/win32/win32buildnotes.html</a> to the <br>
windows development builds section in the downloads page would be <br>
useful in attracting more windows developers. I also think the build <br>
environment is probably the most off putting, but thats another discussion<br>

anyway, its to discuss stuff like this that i posted the site for. if its popular<br>
concensus / Im told to, ill change the links<br>

As for the disabled images, cheers, Ill add that to things to work on<br>
