Any ideas of what was already tried around btool ?

I ported the build system to Waf some time ago, but I used a very customized version of Waf 1.5, so in the end I ddn't put it in trunk. The system worked well on both Linux and Windows. The new Waf 1.6 has a lot more of the needed functionality in core so I guess it would be more feasible to do this now.
