I think this discussion has grown much longer and hairier than it deserves.

Since, as I understand, it only affects compiling and only on OSX, I think I'm siding with Krzysztof. Regular OSX users don't compile things, and those who compile Inkscape for them can do the workaround until the Apple compiler is fixed.

Just my uninformed opinon.
