[Inkscape-devel] question about memory leaks

i wrote up a patch ( https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1092374/comments/11 ) for https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1092374

but as you can see from the comment (hopefully not the patch itself) i dont have much experience with c++, gtk or inkscape programming, so i really want to avoid the potential of having created a memory leak with that. if someone could take a look and enlighten me a bit i would appreciate it. last thing i want is to be making inkscape a slow hog through my little fixes
