But the hatefull s-shape that hang to the "+" cursor make for me and my students impossible to work with the necessary "finesse" (finetuning).The reason is obviousely: we cannot see the fine-details by rapid drawign (sketching) because of it. But the fine-detail make the difference between an amateur and an art-student or professional! Also, an s-shape is disturbing because of his visual dynamic (much more than an triangle for example). It maybe usefull for amateurs and for people with seeing problems, but not for professionals! Two solutions: A) simply remove the s-shape! B) option in Inkscape preferences/tools/calligraphy

Anyway, please allow a possibility to remove the hatefull s-shape from calligrapgy cursor! Otherway, you may have develloped the best calligraphy tool, and make them unusabe -to his full potential- because of an "interface bug".

If You are so kind to allow this option, we can demonstrate the full potential of the ink-tool into a series of Inkscape genuine artworks.
