I've updated the movie file with some sample shots ( http://inkscape.org/~inc/mockup-intro-vid-started.mov) - it gives a slightly clearer idea of the atmosphere I'm trying to create. Here is a list of shots still needed:
• 5 second shot of Inkscape with docked dialogs open and a nice illustration being worked on • 3 second shot of Inkscape being used on Windows (XP/Vista/7) - full-screen recording with taskbars visible • 3.5 second shot of Inkscape being used on any Linux distro - full-screen with taskbars visible • 3-5 seconds each of 2-3 people using Inkscape for different purposes (eg. diagrams, artwork, logos, etc.) - to illustrate pro users & hobbyists • 10 second time-lapse/fast-motion of someone making art • 3 second close-up of pen tool or caligraphy tool in use • 4 seconds of something representing community - any suggestions?
Ideally there would be different people for most of these - at worst we could get away with maybe 4? If anyone has any better ideas for shots already included, they're more than welcome to make suggestions.
I think it would be useful to have an official Inkscape channel - then any videos created for the website could go there (promos, interviews, tutorials, etc). Youtube has a huge audience, and could draw more traffic to the Inkscape website.
