I notice that this isn't always preserved across cut & paste (e.g. when pasting would involve inheriting a different fill/stroke). Is this considered a bug or feature? I know in the past it was considered a feature; I wonder whether that's changed now that we have an explicit "unset" option.

Please don't reply immediately, and you needn't reply at all; just something to give thought to as we think more about the implications of having "unset" as an option.
