I can't wait to see inescape in GutHub. I believe it'll bring more visibility and contributions to the project.

True, and if re-factored into that it makes sense to keep it there.
Do we plan to keep lib2geom there if Inkscape moves to GitLab instead
of GitHub? No need to keep them in the same place of course.
