I have also started to work on converting one of deviant submissions into a drupal theme, but have been swamped with work so it never gets finished. You can count me in for drupal work though :)
One of my projects included porting a phpBB forum to drupal 6 so I have the scripts if needed. You can always continue to use phpBB, but porting to drupal advanced forum makes the forum more integrated with some very useful drupal infrastructure.
