Looks like a GTK 2.8 issue with the packaging to me. I've seen a number of gtk programs barf with the libcairo stuff... it's quite frustrating actually. Pardon my level of newbness with terminology, but it comes across as a "false" dependency.
Ahh, that makes more sense. Well, afaik Inkscape is still depending on Gtk 2.4. It may be worth talking about moving to 2.8, but I don't think there's been discussion of that recently.
So, please file a bug report about this behavior (if there's not a bug about it anyway), so someone can take a look at it. If you can identify when the autopackage'd inkscape began showing this behavior, it'd help narrow in on what caused this.
I'm sure this is just another symptom of autopackage not working for building packages on breezy. Autopackage is supposed to strip false deps like this. I have a lot of autopackage bugs to work out before this release hits, but I thought there was consensus that release wouldn't happen soon.
