In revision 9288 I fixed the inverted coordinate system bug, starting from a patch by Thomas Holder. https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/170049
While this is a rather invasive change, fixing bugs caused by removing the coordinate inversion is simple (often it boils down to tweaking a single line of code), so I think we'll manage to fix any remaining regressions before the release.
