We should have an update for 2017. We've got two exciting projects, the first is to replace our SVG 1.2 wrapped text with SVG 2 (which has a natural fallback for non-SVG 2 renderers. And the second is work to improve Inkscapes' ability to work with CSS stylesheets.
There's a draft version of the front page which you can see if you are logged in and press the 'edit page' button (and make sure it says "content" in the toggle). This is what it says:
