[Inkscape-devel] X,Y,W,H settings do not change independently

Hi inkscape-devel,

I notice that when I want to draw an object with a particular X,Y,W,H this is not easy, because these settings do not change independently. For example, I want to draw a box 210x297 centered at 0,0 (i.e. W=210, H=297, X=-105, Y=-148.5). I make sure I am using geometric bounding box, and I draw the box by hand with a random size and position, then I enter these values in the W,H,X,Y fields. But when I enter some of these values, they change the other values slightly! Is this a bug, and is there a way to correct this behavior?
