[Inkscape-devel] Inkscape component libraries support

This may already be possible but I'm not certain. I'm currently using 0.44 Debian until I get all the required dependencies compiled.

I would like to be able to create named components in an external file and be able to 'import' these items into my svg files and use them. If modified in the external file, the svgs using them would update. Is there any way to do this or does SVG even support something like this?
