The gallery plugin I'm using on the staging website is not shaping up to provide the kinds of functionality that we need. So it'll be removed.
But in it's place we have a choice of what to do. I think I may have to code a gallery type plugin from scratch, so using external sources directly might be an option we want to consider.
I can for-see a situation where perhaps by script.cron or perhaps on request, we grab posts from the right places, save thumbnails and link directly to the targets. We can then take in from different places lots of art.
