Hey, GSoC mentors (or anyone involved in GSoC),
FLOSS Manuals has prepared a really nice guide for mentoring GSoC projects. It's available at:

I've yet to do more than peruse it, but it looks like a good guide.
It's available online or as an EPub (http://objavi.flossmanuals.net/books/GSoCMentoring-en-2009.10.23-19.49.01.ep...), and you can even generate a pdf.
