Bug of the Week:
"Dragging objects in compex document very slow in 0.48+devel" https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1198317 Worth double points if it gets fixed by Monday March 10th! This performance problem is our oldest high priority regression for milestone 0.91. Dragging of elements in a complex scene leads to high CPU loads and slowed framerates. We have good test cases, and the problem is reproduced by at least a couple people. Krzysztof speculates that an optimized bounding box computation in 2Geom might be the solution.
I filed a bug about an important performance regression with Cairo master today. In my opinion it's worse than the bug of the week. https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1288838
Could you please review the report and consider promoting its severity to a release-blocking bug? The performance hit is huge, and it's likely what users will get once the next version of Cairo is released.
