The current workaround is to open the file in a text editor and replace the colliding ID with something else. The approaches to fixing this are: a) Hack: text search and replace colliding id's. This will be very kludgy because we can't save files to memory. b) Add dependency tracking to SPObjects. This one is quite a lot of work, but it has to be done sooner or later.
