Yes, which requires enabling snapping options (and possibly disabling snapping options depending on how many paths run close to the corners), then zooming out to find a corner to grab, then sizing down, then zooming back in, then turning snapping back off (and/or all your snapping options back to normal).

Or we could do Edit > Paste Size > Fit to Document. Dunno, seems better/faster to me. ;)

Also, no one seems too concerned with the paste-size sub-menu being full of options. Since this is a paste-size operation, it seems a natural and intuitive place for it. Hell, maybe even go for TWO more options with "Fit to Document" and "Fit to View", both of which would save a lot of zooming for me. :)

My oppinion. I've grown used to having to muck about with the size of imported things. It would be nice very very nice to not have to zoom out to grab things and zoom back in all the time. That's the problem I'm trying to cure personally. Seems like it would do what Manfred wants as well.
