Should? It is more a question of what you want and how much you are willing to give away.
The absolute minimum Inkscape would need would be for you to license the "code" of your SVG under the General Public License (it's all a bit weird for data files) but if you were willing to put them in the Public Domain it would mean one less licensing detail for the developers to worry about.
