By the way, this is already fixed with the new Node tool. I completely forgot. Care to try? Dragging a Spiro node updates the Spiro path absolutely live.
I have an excuse for forgetting about that: I rarely drag nodes by mouse, especially when fine-tuning a shape. Alt+arrow keys are more convenient and precise for me. (So much for your "everyone needs it" :)
Of course there are a few other places where fixes are needed, such as Pen and Pencil tool when they draw Spiros. But it's also doable.
Please stop spreading FUD about LPEs :)

I'm not against discussing existing issues. I'm against discussing them in a wrong place (entirely off topic on the W3C list) and with wrong implications, somehow blaming the LPE idea itself for the implementation details.
