[Inkscape-devel] Runtime checks for SSL

One of the problems I've been running up against with the autopackage is ensuring that the users have SSL installed. SSL is required for securing jabber login and whiteboard traffic. The autopackages I am currently generating have SSL linked to inkscape statically. This is a huge security nightmare IMHO and I do not plan to do this for the release packages because I do not plan on undertaking the responsibility of ensuring that we update the packages for any and every SSL vulnerability.

I would like to user relaytool to make a runtime check for the presence of libssl and conditionally disable features. I would appreciate assistance with this.
