Sorry for bothering you, but my mom won't let me download Inkscape unless she knows that it won't install a virus or spyware on the computer or something. So who wrote/created Inkscape?
The Inkscape was developed by a number of people, each doing their own role in this project. Some do coding, some web desing/administrion, some writing code, some promoting, etc.
I know that it's open source, but what exactly does that mean?
It means that the code of the app is freely available, and that its usage is subject to one of the open source licence.
Is there any way I can prove to my mom that it's a safe and reputable
program?
Well, if you are using Windows you can always run a antivirus/anti-adware to check it.
Thanks,
Lisa
