Bryce, I do not think that we need to wait for cairo support until we switch to gtk2.8. It is in the most distros already. There is a patch for pdf export via cairo-pdf that is very usefull and does all the transparency and bitmap stuff that is broken in the current version. What I am trying to find out is: is there any blocker that prevents us from using that patch?
