I'd like to see a release this year. Simarlius and verbalshadow and to a smaller extent I started looking at correcting the rasterization of filters in PDF output last night. I think that just this small fix could be useful to a large number of people in a release setting. In addition to all of the fantastic features from GSoC and other contributors 0.47 is beginning to look a bit overdue. But what are our goals? Is there something we really want this next release to do?
Our goal is, before all, a stable and usable release. Right now the codebase is VERY destabilized, probably more so than ever before, due to all the refactorings. As I wrote recently, even I sometimes have to go back to older stabler build to do some work. If we really focus on this, we probably can stabilize it enough for releasing within the year, but we have to work hard for that.
