Can you define "doesn't work" ?
I would like to suggest:
- make the Plain SVG as the default
- rename the Inkscape SVG as something like *.svgi
A more ideal solution would probably be to figure out exactly what's causing things to fail, and then either fix it to fall back gracefully, or to fix Cairo if that's what is broken.
