The 64bit builds are a strange one. We really shouldn't be distributing them as an official thing for a stable release update when the original release in question didn't have them. However, given the age of the last release and the next one not being right around the corner, it seems like a reasonable compromise. A few Qs.

Is the 64bit build a proper build with installer?
Has anyone done the leg work to make a 64bit portable?
Will we be providing it in all the same forms as we do for the 32bit builds?
Are people willing to deal with 64bit build specific issues in a timely fashion?

If anyone has any reservations or objections as to why this would be considered an official build, please share them. We can easily add an unofficial section for them in the meantime to still meet the user need and get more field testers.

Oh, and I had seen that Partha's 64bit download was listed for 0.48.4 on the downloads page... I don't recall seeing a discussion about this in the past. For something to go under the "official" section, we should be hosting it with the rest of our files on sourceforge or have it with another hosting service we officially recognize in the project.

Cheers,
Josh

Ah, thanks. :) I am only late by 11 hours.

I seem to remember that Johan was busy with 0.9pre1. Anyway, I'll put out the 0.48.5 version if there are no takers.

Maybe it's me, but I don't see a Windows 64-bit mentioned in the downloads?

I thought Liam had provided one. Otherwise, please let me know if one is needed.
