Works for me - last tested with r10632 (GTK+/Quartz 2.24.4, GCC 4.2.1 on Mac OS X 10.5.8 (i386), MacPorts 1.9.2) - but I do build with the patches listed in the blueprint (mentioned in earlier reply).
Assuming that you did not remove (as recommended) the ige-mac-menu.* files and the related #idfefs from the sources:
1) Did you use the global menubar at the top of the screen (File > Inkscape Preferences) to open the dialog? 2) If so, does it also crash when using the keyboard shortcut 'Shift+Ctrl+P' or the button on the commands bar instead?
