Why can't we give Jon some time to work on his stuff? He wasn't very active after 0.44, but did a lot of good work before that, so I'd vote for postponing the next release (which is always a stress for developers :) if Jon has short-term development plans.
I *think* I'd be on track to get stuff to a releasable state in about a month.
However, for the "wide toolbars" problem, Aaron and I have a bit of a handle on it, and can work on much of it stand-alone. So this could be done wile 0.45 were going through release and then go into the SVN right after 0.45 is out the door.
How is this work coming along so far? I've seen good interesting noises on IRC the past week or two so assuming development is progressing well? Have we allowed enough time for this work, that we can start on releasing 0.45?
