The moment we start thinking about the mythical "user out there" we are going to make stupid decisions.
"Scratch your itch," yes. But don't stop others from scratching their itches! This is what you do by removing other people's features.
The reality is that spirals don't seem to get used as they are too specialised - to test this theory we should remove the icon from the tool bar and see who screams :).
I do.
And seriously, don't we have lots of other important work to do, instead of testing each other's screaming reflexes? If you have a better tool, I would love to see it. But removing something first is not a good way to pique my interest :)
