it's due to https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=787648
glibmm accidentally introduced code in version 2.54 that needs C++14 features.
They plan to remove that dependency again in the stable version, but the unstable version already requires C++14 features so we might need to adjust eventually (I don't know how glibmm's release cycles work).

Could someone investigate this? The PPA builds started breaking a few days ago. Not sure why, but I note glibmm mentioned prominently in the error messages.
