Just a sujustion in case you release an update to inkscape. Perhaps you should treat gradient lines more like objects(allow for grouping to the objects they are aplied to). Also, if you can, have the four corners of an imported bitmap treated as nodes, to allow for perspective style deforming. Oh, the pattern converter doesn't seem to have much use, the way the program illistrates the spaces beetween objects that are exactly "touching" is intrusive, there's no way to get around it so it needs fixing.
