I think that when you said "commercial" you actually meant
"proprietary" (not libre)...


Yes, that's what I meant, thanks for the correction.

 
Even though it may sound like a minor detail, I stress that because
libre fonts can very easily have a commercial aspect (i.e. type
designers being paid to improve them) without affecting their freedom
aspects.

I agree. I'll be more careful in the future. :) It was not lack of knowing, it was being in too much of a rush.
