i use OpenSuse 10.0 and Inkscape allways crash on startup. I had this error with different versions from Suse and also with a 0.43+devel (Jan 7 2006) compiled on my host

Have you read the 0.43 Release Notes and removed those suspect theme libraries? Then you should at least be able to start up.

I will admit, however, that inkscape has still problems on OpenSuSE 10.0, as such a system crashes cvs here when opening the Fill & Stroke dialog.
