Inkscape Trunk from ppa now works fine again after updating on my two Kubuntu (14.04 and 16.04 64 bits) this afternoon.

I see. Well, for the record, I was able to reproduce the crash/segfault of
inkscape on startup with the inkscape-trunk ppa on a newly installed Ubuntu
16.04 x86-64 VirtualBox virtual machine using the JWM window manager. Please
let me know if I can prove to be of more assistance.
