Hey, looks like 0.40 is a vacation opportunity for everybody else!
Inkscape 0.40 aka Bulia Bulia!
Don't think I'm going to be getting much vacation either. I'll be busily gutting and rewriting much of our architecture, and writing the new layers dialog/object manager/XML editor/whatever.
0.40 looks like it will be a pretty normal development cycle, like 0.39. There will be a focus (Gtkmmification), plus open development on a variety of other things.
It would be a good idea for developers to add what they plan to work on to the Roadmap, and mark their names on tasks they intend to do.
In particular, if you plan on adding a new dependency to the codebase, be sure to indicate it in the Roadmap. Those sorts of changes need to have good visibility beforehand so we can make sure they're really needed.
In certain areas there's going to be a *lot* of work, so do not be afraid to move less critical items forward to 0.41; if they happen to get done sooner, that's fine. Breaking up large tasks into a set of smaller ones can also be useful, especially for recruiting help.
