Hi All,
Attached is the SVG colour set we discussed today. Its only in the X11 rgb.txt format but it is complete and (hopefully 100%) correct. When/if we come up with an XML format it can be converted.
The W3C have obviously based the set (http://www.w3.org/TR/SVG11/types.html#ColorKeywords) on the X11 set but have removed A LOT (605 colours). Most of these were duplicates as the X11 set currently has things like: 106 90 205 slateblue 106 90 205 Slate Blue
It is worth noting that there are colours that are now different. X11: green is 0,255,0 SVG: green is 0,128,0 X11: there is no 0,128,0 SVG: has lime which is 0,255,0
SVG has added in total about 5 colours.
Franz, feel free to add this into CVS in its current format. We probably need to have some management code so when someone loads a document or imports a colour set into a document, Scribus can compare the colour sets and offer to convert names etc, or this could be run from a menu.
I think the above should be for the future though. At first, I'd prefer to see the set move to XML and have Scribus scan a directory for sets so people can define their own by just putting a conforming file in the directory.
