      Wow, that sounds promising!
Do you mean a new place for the extension template project?  Or a new place 
for the doc  you were planning to write?  or both?  Why is github not 
working?  (sorry, I'm new to the development side of things)
I think there are plans for inkscape.org to provide something like that. 
Some parts may already be available, such as InkSpace (in inkscape.org 
member profile).  But I don't think all of it is fully deployed yet -- such 
as a page to display all projects -- but you can still upload individual 
resources .  Check it out!  http://inkscape.org/person/register/

I started a github for a new template for inkscape extensions and was
planning a follow up doc on my blog (gone now) running through some of
the ways to make extensions.
I'd very much prefer to place it somewhere more suitable where it could
be maintained and improved.

        For item #4.2 of the FAQ ("Are there non-coding ways to help?")
under Help Fellow Users > Write Tutorials, I want to include info on how
to
submit tutorials for the official documentation.  Or at least provide a
link
to such info.  (Also, I might want to contribute tutorials myself.)
        So far, all I've found is this page

not sure is even a relevant doc anymore.  It says to subscribe to the 
Inks
Docs mailing list, but other links are dead (not found).
        Is there any other info, that I haven't found yet?  Or is

tutorial
writers will find out how to submit them, from the mailing list)?
