Hi all,
My name is Alejandra and I'm new to the development team. I'm excited to get working on fixing some bugs or anything that needs to be done but am unsure where to begin. Do any of you have suggestions on where to begin or what my first milestones should be? I'm looking for a good and not very complicated first step.
Hi Alejandra,
Welcome to the team!
We generally don't give directions on where to start - the best area for you is usually particular to your own personal interests and abilities, and we don't yet know enough about you to make any suggestions!
But, to help new folks find their own path, there are several different places to look for ideas. The bug tracker you're already aware of; many people find that a good angle to get involved. There's also a bunch of ideas in the wiki:

I'd encourage poking around in there; some bits are a little outdated but much is not. For some people, the Janitorial tasks can be a good way to get some practice. Others find working on documentation to be a good way to contribute while they learn.
If/when you're looking for a larger project, check the Projects page, or wishlist bug reports. But I think by then you'll have your ideas.
