Hi all,
So - we've decided on dates for the facilities for a GimpCon 2006 - March 17/18/19 in Lyon, France.
The provisional plan is to have 2 days "open to the public" presentations of free software graphics software. The third day will continue to be open to the public, but there will be no talks planned. The day is available to developers to do a hackfest, or have meetings, or chat & drink beer. Perhaps all 3 :)
I've confirmed talks from Oyvind Kolas on a general image processing talk, featuring his non-linear editor and the (future) new core of the GIMP, a talk from Sven Neumann on the GIMP, and a talk from MrB and mrdocs over at Scribus.
I will also be contacting OpenICC, littlecms, GutenbergPrint (formerly GimpPrint), Krita and Xsane, to see if their developers can come, and if they're interested in giving presentations.
This is going to be a cool weekend. It'd be great to have a presentation on vector graphics. Unfortunately, I don't know if there are any Inkscape developers in Europe, and if there are, whether ye're interested in getting together. Please drop me a line ASAP.
Looking forward to seeing ye in Lyon, Dave.
