If we could have nested templates folders...
I'd want all templates nested under these categories 

Mobile > 
Desktop >
Paper >
Labels >
Cinema & TV >
Web >
Typography >

I've never use templates much, except for a few repetitive tasks I do,
and I had to create my custom templates for that (DV Pal video with safe
areas, for instance).
A long list of templates is kind of overwhelming and makes it difficult
to find the right one, so for everyday work I tend to just edit my
document properties and that's it.

Just to clarify: this is not saying that templates aren't useful. They
really are, but the overly long list makes them less handy.

In my opinion, kicking most of them out and adding a tutorial page
saying how to create them would be far better than having dozens of
them. But probably adding another tutorial page in the help section
isn't an option.

On the other hand a good UI for template creation would be a good
addition to inkscape.
