Hi,
Was there some bad documentation or missing directions that we should update so others can avoid this problem in the future?
Actually I have not read any Inkscape-related documentation on this; just automatically used the "pserver" method, since that was what I got accustomed to earlier.
Taking a look at the Wiki, I realize you have a very good documentation on using CVS.
