I just started doing Gtk+/Glib coding, but I indeed plan to do more in respect to UI and usability stuff. It'll certainly help to have cvs access.

Small tweaks can be "patched first, discussed later." Larger things may benefit from discussing first, either on the list or on a Wiki page (by the way, there are several UI tasks planned on Wiki that you might help with). Also there are several useful tutorials for developers on the Wiki.
